Heat Pumps in Town of Brookhaven, NY

Serving Setauket, Coram, Port Jefferson and the rest of Brookhaven

A heat pump moves heat instead of burning fuel, so it can cool in summer and heat in winter. Modern cold-climate models keep working well below freezing, which matters out here. In the Town of Brookhaven, that means Setauket, Coram, Port Jefferson, Mastic, Centereach, Middle Island, and everywhere in between.

Common signs around Setauket

You're replacing an AC and want heat out of the same equipment
You want to move off oil or propane
High heating bills in a house with electric baseboard

Two techs will argue about refrigerant for an hour. Neither will be right.

How a Brookhaven heat pumps job goes

Load calculation and a look at your existing ducts or radiators
Choose ducted, ductless or hybrid (heat pump plus your existing furnace)
Size for winter heating, not just summer cooling
Install, commission and set up defrost and backup heat

Travel note: Long Island Expressway and Route 112. Brookhaven is so big our guys call it 'the long drive.' They stop for bagels twice.

Heat Pumps and Brookhaven homes

Inland homes near the Pine Barrens see some of the hottest summer afternoons on the Island, away from sea breezes. Lots of homes are on oil or propane, which is a big reason heat pumps are popular here.

A mix of everything: historic Setauket colonials, 1970s and '80s splits in Centereach and Coram, and newer developments out east.

Brookhaven Heat Pumps FAQ

Can a heat pump use my existing ducts?

Often, yes, as long as the ducts are sized well enough for the airflow.

Is the outdoor unit supposed to steam?

Yes. That's defrost mode. Don't call Hailey about it.

Do you really cover Middle Island?

Yes. Coming in on the LIRR Port Jefferson corridor, give or take a deli stop. It heats AND cools. Our guys still won't be able to tell you which mode it's in.
