🧊 Ductless Mini-Splits on Long Island

Mini-splits are wall- or ceiling-mounted heads connected to an outdoor unit by a small line set. They're ideal where there's no ductwork: older homes, additions, finished garages and sunrooms.

Signs you need ductless mini-splits

Hot upstairs bedrooms or a converted attic
Window units you're sick of hauling up and down every year
An addition or sunroom the main system can't reach
A house with baseboard or radiator heat and no ducts

What the job involves

Choose head locations and size each zone
Pick single-zone or multi-zone outdoor equipment
Drill a small (about 3-inch) hole and run line set, power and condensate
Mount the heads and the outdoor unit, then vacuum and charge
Set up each zone's remote or app control

Someone will drill one extra hole. You'll find it in the spring.

How many heads do I need?

Usually one per room or open area you want to control. A multi-zone outdoor unit can run several heads.

Do mini-splits heat too?

Most are heat pumps, so yes.

Will it look ugly?

Line hide covers make the outside run neat. The guy smoking next to it is extra.
